SE Regional Grades

The Women’s Artistic Squad at Dover Gym Club is celebrating after successful performances at the recent South East Regional Grades competition.

The Grades competition attracted the best gymnasts from across Kent, Surrey and Sussex and was held over three days with gymnasts competing on Floor, Vault, Bars, Beam and Range & Conditioning.

Gabrielle Scott-Kilvert, 11, became regional champion in the Level 4 category achieving the highest overall score of all the 70 gymnasts who entered in this category.

In total, Dover Gym Club had five medallists and everyone finished in a respectable place.

Coach Doreen Critchlee said: “We’re really proud of the girls who’ve worked very hard and faced tough competition from the best gymnasts in the region.

“They have a lot to live up to as we face the Kent Championships in June, which is the next big event for our Artistic Squad.”

Results:

Grade 5: Holly Burrows – 7th out of 19 gymnasts and a DISTINCTION!

Grade 6: Lenna Kalvaitis – 5th place and Lucy Loane 8th, out of 57 gymnasts and a DISTINCTION!

Regional Level 4 – Gabrielle Scott-Kilvert was the Regional 4 (2005) champion achieving a DISTINCTION and the highest all-around score of all the 70 gymnasts in the regional 4 ages. Bethany Dobson was 10th and COMMENDED.

Regional Level 2 – Lauren Colquhoun won the silver medal in the 2002+ age group and Ellie McLeavey won the bronze medal in the 2002 age group. Both gymnasts were COMMENDED. 

Regional Level 3 – Ursula Wright won the bronze medal in the 2005 age group and a DISTINCTION. Lola Medall came 9th out of the 14 gymnasts in the 2004 age group and was COMMENDED.

Regional Level 1 – Lucy Bartlett came in 4th place in the 2002 age group with a DISTINCTION. Olivia Bartlett won the silver medal in the out of age category and was COMMENDED.
